‘A Miracle at Turney Road’ brought together faces from across our 8 teams for the SBC Xmas party. Thanks to Toff and Luke for the games and the bar staff for the catering.

We also say (with great sadness) bye (for now) to Conor Geoghegan. A great midfield and brilliant all round guy will be missed by all. Good luck for the future and see you soon.

Match reports for 16/11/19

1s- endured a tough afternoon away at Kew. Still missing several regulars, the 1s struggled to find their rhythm and failed to find the net for the first time this season. The end result was a 3-0 defeat that saw SBC slip to 4th in Senior division 3.

4s- travelled to Polytechnic 7s for a SAL cup match. After negotiating a tough start, SBC found the net through Oliver ‘the glove’ Johnson who latched on to Froch’s through ball and rounded the keeper. The two again combined in the second half to double the lead with Johnson’s second goal. Johnson turned provider for SBC’s third, whilst the 4s keeper made several impressive stops throughout the game. 3-0 and passage to the next round.

5s- faced HSBC at Beckenham looking to get back to winning ways. SBC started the better and generally controlled the match running out 5-2 winners. Goal scorers were Amorfini (2), Haridy, Jones and Thomas. The win sees the 5s leapfrog HSBC and move in to second place in Junior division 4.

8s- SBC were away at Old Wilsonians 8s looking for their first points of the season. A difficult opposition meant that SBC will have to wait for another week to obtain the points, as they suffered a heavy defeat. Despite the loss, the application and spirit of the team could not be faulted.
